Rules and Orders Agreed to be Observed by the United Fire Society. Instituted at Gloucester, Sandy Bay, (Now called Rockport,) January 3d, 1807. Includes a roster of members from 1808 to 1845. This is a ""bucket brigade"" that preceeded the establishment of a fire department in the town. ""That if any Fire should be permitted to break out in Rockport, we will be helpful to each other in extinguishing the same"".
